What's an anime like db/z/s that's not terribly cheesy like fairy tail or something? Or just a general good action anime with very strong characters

Yozakura Quartet: Hoshi no Umi / Hana no Uta / Tsuki ni Naku (Specifically those three. There was an earlier adaption which apparently isn't that great)

And by Hunter x Hunter, I mean the 2011 adaption. It adapts practically the entire manga so far compared to the original anime and then second to last arc is absolutely fantastic. It's what made me absolutely love the anime, at least.
