So my bank approved me for a $2,000 visa card, what's the best gaming laptop I can get for that much? Price has to include any taxes + shipping.

Don't belittle someone for wanting goods that you cannot get.

Where should I ask then?

>laptop
>>
>>192067
This is a good idea on many levels. Go with Lenova if you can
>>
>>192067
don't get a gaming laptop. You can get a seriously monster desktop for that, don't blow it on a laptop that's half as good.
>>
>>192067
Build your own. You can get a high end PC with that much.

seriously, if you have nothing to contribute, leave.

>>192073
Thanks, I'll take a look.

I'm a college student, I need a portable powerhouse, not a heavy desktop that will keep me chained to my dorm room.
>>
>>192067
>buying thousands of dollars of high end consumer electronics on a high interest credit account
Idiot.
>>
>>192071
belittle for something you cannot get? that's not how cards work. if its a 2000 max you should be spending over 30 percent of that. you're going to fuck your credit real quick. it's not just 'buy x' and pay over time
>>
Build yourself a high-end PC and buy a handheld console if you want to play something on the go.
>>
For the love of any god you wanna believe in, don't buy a gaming laptop OP.

Seriously. Please don't. It's honestly a waste.

Look up logicalincrements and go Enthusiast Tier if you want a nice gaming rig. Make sure to get 16gb RAM though. Some builds say 8, go 16.

Honestly. I'm not trying to be one of those LOL GAMING LAPTOP guys. But seriously, don't waste your money.
>>
>>192079
Oh, it's one of those guys.
If you want to play outside, get a DS and a PC. Don't make yourself a fool who plays video games in the public, you autistic child.
>>
>>192080
It's not high interest. It's zero percent for twelve months.

I'm a senior looking for jobs, once I get my signing bonus the laptop will have paid for itself in helping me to obtain a great job.
>>
>hurr i got a credit card
>better max it out immediately
>what do you mean i have to pay it back???
>>
For 2000$ you can build a really good desktop AND buy a fair laptop that's going to be more than enough for college purposes. Learn to use your money, moron.
>>
>>192086
Kek, it's the American lifestyle.

I'm a college student too and I'm still giving you that advice.

Just because you picked a dead end major with no career opportunities doesn't mean everyone faces equally bleak prospects.
>>
Are you poor OP? Based on your mindset given this loan I have to assume you are (or will be very soon)
>>
>>192087
this. a $500 laptop and $1500 desktop are perfect for you.

Dude, if you're a college student, don't spending so much on the laptop. Just buy some cheap-but-reliable laptop for doing your works and buy a handheld console like 3DS or Vita if you want to play something
>>
I don't have a recommendation but I'll share my experience. My father bought me an alienware laptop for college. It's too heavy to use as anything other than a desktop. But it is nice that you can move it into your livingroom for comfort. Had to buy a windows tablet to use for productive shit outside of the dorm/apartment/house. Really easy to move from one living location to another. It's been reliable for the last 4 years of use. I would never have wanted one, but now, I can say that it was a good value.
>>
>>192067
Is there any specific reason you want a laptop over a desktop?

They are perfectly viable, but you will pay a bit more for less.
>>
>>192095
>ITT: Channel le inner Suze Orman and Alex Ramsay

People who buy electronics they don't need that depreciate like crazy are fucking morons, but demeaning revolving credit is fucking stupid.

dont be an idiot, if you don't have the money for a luxury purchase dont make it
>>
>>192102

There's more that goes into a career than a degree anon
>>
>>192085
0% interest doesnt mean it doesn't get reported to the bureaus. for a gaming laptop of your 'dreams' you're going to set yourself back 3 months of credit for every 1 month you're over the soft limit
>>
>>192103
In the United States, we don't pay anything extra (interest, fees at time of purchase, etc.) over buying with cash/check/debit but get cashback and tons of benefits... if you're not stupid.
>>
Op if you lived on a dorm, you could built yourself a small form factor pc and buy a cheap monitor if you don't want any hassle

Get a cheapo, shit tier laptop to bring to class with you and take notes.

Use the money to build a decent gaming PC with a recent mobo/CPU (you can always upgrade parts in the future), some kickass monitors/peripherals. You can easily spend within $2000.
>>
>>192111
Wish I could say the same

At least the whitehouse did that call for more microbiology research, I'm sure to get scooped up quickly next year

Any good job will provide you with a laptop you retard. Your video gaming will not help you in the slightest.
>>
Don't bother with a gaming laptop, they are way to fucking heavy to carry around normally. Plus the battery on them is shit so you will be permanently plugged into a power point.
Just get a desktop and a decent laptop for work.
>>
>>192067
>only $2000

what are you 16? $2000 is babbies 1st credit card.

>i want a gaming laptop so i can game on the go!

what does that even mean

what kind of weirdo wants to play a video game when you're actually supposed to be doing something

and you literally can't. to actually game on a gaming laptop you need a desk to lay it on and a USB mouse to play with and you need to be plugged into a wall for power. so you've basically just got a 50 pound desktop that you take with you.

i'd rather have a $1000 gaming PC and a $500 light laptop than some faggot nigger $1500+ gay-men laptop

http://www.creditcards.com/glossary/term-grace-period.php
>The grace period is the time during which you are allowed to pay your credit card bill without having to pay interest. The Credit CARD Act of 2009 requires that if issuers have grace periods, they must last at least 21 days. The grace period usually applies only to new purchases.
If you don't sign up for some retarded credit repair card, your credit card will have a grace period.

>mfw my card has a US$150,00 limit
>mfw no face

I bought a "gaming laptop" because I move a lot (Military) and space is at a premium.

There are heat issues you will encounter. I usually prop mine up and turn the fans on max if I'm going to be playing something pretty intensive because your frames will start dropping due to throttling.

You will also not be able to upgrade individual components aside from memory and the computer itself is rather heavy even with a low profile case.

I'm happy with its performance, but I know I paid way more for it than a PC of similar spec in a desktop case.

Had I been in any other scenario, such as living at college, I would have opted to buy a low-mid grade laptop and spend the rest of the money I spent on this thing on a desktop.

If you HAVE to have a Laptop, I would suggest Sager as a brand. Their build quality is solid, and they have pretty good price-performance ratio.

If you don't absolutely have to, you will probably end up regretting it.
>>
>>192120
It makes sense in college, where you'll likely be changing accommodation frequently and thus it cuts down how much you need to move.

OP is a college kid who has never seen the world, so it makes sense that he is retarded.
