It is a traversal, each adjacent angle add to 180 so each angle parallel should be the same degrees.

When you have a line coming out another line, the angles on each side of it add up to 180.
7=(180-38)=142
6=(180-142)=38

3=5=1=7
4=2=6=38degrees
Any from group one + any from group 2 = 180degrees. All of this is always true assuming that L and M and parallel and that the other one is actually a straight line.
