Suggest web comics, traditional comics, novels, short stories, web serials, movies, cartoons, video games, etc. that are X.

This post would be improved with an Oxford comma:

From other Homestuck fans I've heard Steven Universe should be good if you are a Homestuck fan, has many of the things Homestuck fans like. I haven't seen much of it myself, though. So it may be incorrect.
I guess it also depends on what you like about Homestuck.

Also, maybe he would enjoy enemas on the top of hell, you don't know!
Problem Sleuth, by the Homestuck author
Undertale, from one of the main Homestuck composers
Earthbound, Homestuck's namesake
Gurren Lagann, for the over-the-top attitude/action
Barkley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden, for a pop culture blend that also rips art from popular sources

I have watched some Steven Universe. For my taste it was a little too child-friendly and, I don't know, self-consciously progressive, I guess. I liked the jazzy soundtrack to the fights.

Good question. To name a few things, the art style, the humor in the pesterlogs (Terezi's early interactions with Dave especially are funny as hell), the time stuff (it's one of my favorite takes on time travel) and how the characters of the pre-scratch kids and later the twelve trolls all worked off each other in general.

I'll check out Gurren Lagann and Barkley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden, thanks. I've read/played the rest.
