hi /wsr.
Been having some laptop issues lately that I need help with.
Basically my laptop keeps bluescreening every 3-4 days with two different errors.
>"ERR_IRQL_DRIVER_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL (ndis.sys)"
And
>"ERR_IRQL_DRIVER_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL (nwifi.sys)"
Note that these may not be exactly accurate as I am writing from memory here.
When the laptop bluescreens, it turns itself back on with no trouble. However, my driver seems to get messed up because when I open Geforce Experience it tells me that it can't detect the driver.
If I try to play games while it's like this I'll get massive FPS loss.
A way I've found to temporarily solve the driver issue is to turn off and unplug the laptop and shake it around a bit, which always works.
I've had my Alienware (Yes, I know. I was a dumb shit transitioning to PC gaming) for about two years now and only recently has this started happening.
I have no idea what could be causing it and I have made sure to update my game drivers and run virus/malware scans.
I am not as tech-savvy as some of you guys may be so go easy on me. I know I messed up big time when I fell for the """gaming""" laptop meme.
I plan to build my own rig, but for now I'd really like to save the trouble of taking it to a repair shop.
Will post my specs if requested.
Update your network drivers. Don't let Windows Update do it for you, download the actual drivers from the manufacturer's site.
Scan your computer for malware. The following is a pretty good guide, step 1 through 5 should be enough.

Do you know where I can update them?
I have no idea myself
I have Qualcomm Atheros Network Manager so I'd assume my network drivers are Atheros drivers.
I don't know where to download new drivers for them though.

I have no idea where to download Atheros drivers or what ones I need, unfortunately

You bought an Alienware computer. Go to Alienware's site and look at the driver section. Look for your laptop model. Look for the network drivers.
I don't have an Alienware computer and I don't really care to look at the site.
