So I found out that I want to buy myself some Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones for a great price, but then I found out that there's DT880 and DT990 as well
So right now, I am completely unsure over which ones I should take
Is sound isolation/noise cancellation worth it? Or should I go for semi closed(880) or open(990) headphones? I have never ever used any good headphones so I have no experience about it
And neither do I know which impedance version I should go for
I will mainly use it for gaming
If you're wanting a good pair of headphones around that price my advice is go for Sennheisers.
HD558's can be modified to be exactly the same as the more expensive HD598s, but I would recommend either of them.

Also, forgot to say they are open, so if you are going to wear them on the train (not sure why you would with $150 headphones) then maybe choose something else.
For gaming I don't think having open headphones should be an issue though, they aren't massively loud to people standing away from you and for the most part they get more bang for your buck.
I am sort of on the same fence, except I decided to go with the DT990
However, I have no idea regarding which impedance I should go for
I have the 770 250ohms and they are great headphones. It's the first pair of studio quality headphones I've had though.
I bought the 250s because I play a lot of strategy and war games with explosions and the extra bass is nice.
