Hi guys, my desktop just starting acting up yesterday. Every sound has static and sounds like its playing into a fan, and when it happens my frames in games go down, which is unusual. Only hardware change was a new GPU ( GeForce 960 ), but that wouldn't affect the sound, would it? Feel free to ask for any files you think you might need.

Open it up and turn it on and see if something is loose or wobbly.

Already opened it up, it just randomly started yesterday during a game of Planetary Annihilation.

Probably already done this, but unplug all power cables and reconnect just to make sure they aren't a bit loose.
Speakers or headset?
Did you update graphics drivers?
Are you using HDMI Audio?
>>18223
Ill check the cables. The speakers are fine, plugged them up to another device. Didn't update the drivers recently, and I'm not using HDMI audio.

Pt.2
Me being a dumbfuck.
You upgraded recently from?
Could be old drivers fucking with new ones.
>Driver sweep.
>>18227
I never thought of that, thats actually probably the issue.
>>18232
Update: Didn't fix it, still can't even play songs at full speed.
>>18240
have you got the little speaker supplied with the MOBO plugged in?
If not > Plug in
Restart > Listen for beeps
Google.
2. Unplug CD, HDD, etc But leave the GPU
3. None of the above definitely ded.
>>18289
No beeps, so Im assuming no problems. Without my CD Drive or HDD, with the bare essentials of PSU, RAM, MOBO, GPU, and CPU had no issues until it came to booting Windows.

I was having a look at the Dxdiag file, and I noticed it said "DX Setup Parameters: Not found". Is that the issue perhaps?
No beeps no problems.
As your HDD was unplugged it could be that.
I presume without HDD plugged in you can get to BIOS?
HDD dying imho.
Turn it off, buy new HDD and ghost before you lose it all.

>DX Setup Parameters: Not found
One last thing you could try actually is repairing Dx.
It'll be in the game's root folder
IE - C/Programs/insertgamehere
It's a long list, Once you have opened the redist folder, sort the list by type so you can easily find DXSETUP.
