Bought Quake on Steam.
How do I change the controls so I can look up and down by moving the mouse and how do I add the soundtrack.

1. Find where quake is installed to in your steam directory.
2. download Quakespasm.
3. Place it in your quake directory. You should see an "id1" folder just inside it, make sure quakespasm is placed in the directory just outside this folder. So if you went into a directory called QUAKE, and you saw "id1" just inside, place Quakespasm's files inside QUAKE.
4. Download the ogg soundtrack from somewhere and place it in a folder called "music" inside id1.
5. Create a shortcut to Quakespasm, and edit it, adding "-fitz" after the quakespasm.exe quotes.
6. Launch shortcut.
Congratulations.

Your first mistake was buying quake off steam.
Your second mistake was not using a proper sourceport, and instead using the steam shitpile version that isn't even updated.
Get a sourceport and download the soundtrack like the anon above me said, and play it properly without steam.

They invented the 3d shooter, then open-sourced the game engine, so you could have your precious "sourceport"*, and give away a quarter of the game for absolutely nothing.
Repaying this by pirating pak1.pak makes you more than a bit of a dick, no?
* which is a stupid name.
