I have a ASUS ROG GL552VW

Intel i7-6700
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
16.0GB of RAM

I was able to play games like MGSV, NBA 2K16, WWE 2K16, Skyrim etc on max settings. I haven't touched my laptop for a couple of months now.

I decided to get back into it and now every game I play lags, I downloaded drivers through the manufactures website and still I have the same problem. I even rebooted my laptop and still nothing changed.

Can you guys please help out? I can provide whatever info you need. Please help me out

Open up the Xbox app
Go to 'Settings' > 'Game DVR'
Turn off "Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR"

That should at least fix some of it.

Im looking for the XBOX app on the search bar, but the store only pops up. I buy all my games through steam

Unless you uninstalled it, it should appear.
After clicking on the start button, select 'All Apps' and scroll to X

Yeah, I found it. I turned it off and still nothing. Would the NVIDIA control panel have anything to do with it?

It shouldn't.
Try completely uninstalling all drivers, and reinstall only the newest ones, compatible with your card.
