1) After my external hard drive was dangling from my computer it no longer is accessible. It beeps when I plug it in now. I was able to see the folders and continue watching a movie for a little while after it was hanging. Now I can't use it at all.
2) How can I make a youtube video with clips from movies? Plus adding my own music, voice, random pictures and graphics to them.

Fro (2) I would advise looking into openshot.org.

I checked out openshot and it only works on linux. Thanks anyways

Hard disks don't have speakers, anon.
If it's beeping, that means the heads are stuck to the disk, and the drive is toast.
If you really need your data back, send it to a recovery company.
If you'd quite like your data back, but don't mind if you kill it, whack the top off and unjam the heads yourself.
In any case, its days of being a diskdrive are over.

That really sucks. Can I trust these recovery places won't freak out if they find a bunch of movies on it?
Giving this thread a good ol bump

It depends what you mean by "movies".
If it's warez or porn, a) they're professionals who've seen it all before, and b) it'd be quicker and cheaper to just download it again.
If it's you shitting on a toddler, you might want to try fixing it yourself.
