so /g/ is just full of shitpost as usual, can someone please critique my build? With student aid I can get a computer that will last me a few years and do proper 3D modeling on it for engineering classes, I have a stipend of $1,000.
It's fine. Maybe get a WD instead of seagate

Got it, thanks. Sweet.
Brother told me to wait for AMD Zen but I don't think it'll be worth it in the end, considering intel would get the job done and I don't want a high end gaming PC, I'm already sinking a lot into this one.

Don't wait for anything unless it has reasonable proof that it will deliver. Zen has been marred by setback after setback, and even if it turns out fine, is not something you should bank on
>>172274
Wait for Zen if you can, unless you won't give half a fuck when it comes out and you realize you could have gotten a better pc for the price or see when Intel prices drop.
I wish you could afford an SSD for a boot drive.
I hope you don't consider AMD.
Interesting that you opted for a sound card. Perhaps you really need one. I see it's not compatible with Win 10, but maybe you're not going to use Win 10.

Just get any old SSD, now or later, and use it as a cache.
Google "primocache".

(I notice that your budget doesn't include $200 for Windows Pro, so I reckon you can get primocache from the same retailer that's selling you Windows for nothing).

Needs a few thousand dollars worth of poptarts and you'll be good to go.

why the fuck do you need that soundcard? your motherboard already has 7.1 onboard so thats literally a waste of $60, dont get the soundcard and find a cheap ssd instead (like a 32gb one) to use as your boot drive. also dont use windows 10, fuck windows 10.
