How do I into japanese cinema? What are the best directors or movies (preferably not longer than 2 hours)? Or maybe there's a /tv/ essential japanese films chart?

You definitely need to watch some movies by Akira Kurosawa.

Takashi Miike is a must if you're into stuff that's out of the mainstream

You named them, so it's all good.
I also didn't mention Kon Ichikawa and he's great.

Watch Woman in the Dunes

For classics stuff Kurosawa and Yasujiro Ozu are essentials.
For modern japanese movies: Takashii Mike, Takeshi Kitano, Shunji Iwai and Sion Sono.
There is obviously much more and the ones I listed to you are some of the most well known, but it's a good starting point.
I really enjoyed Harakiri
I think I'll watch a movie by Ozu or Kurosawa tonight then. Thanks
