That's not how colors mix.
Why is there a black/grey mixed in?

I am using Photoshop and it's pencil tool.

I heard giving the document gamma should fix this but it still turns out this way.

when you are editing photographs you can rarely use the gradient tool when you need it

Green and magenta are opposite colors in the RGB color scheme so they'll mix into grey.
