What's a good, high performance, non-meme mouse?

I'm looking to buy a new mouse because my gaming mouse has some problems with scrolling. I've dealt with it for about a year now and I'm sick of it.
I still play video games, but I'll also have to bring my next mouse to a working environment, which is why I'm looking for a mouse that doesn't have too much input lag and has a good sensor without the flair of a gaming mouse.
The most important thing is build quality though. I've had about 8 mice since I started doing shit on computers and they all malfunctioned in its own unique way after about a year.
Do you guys have any recommendations? I've been looking at Zowie mice, they look good, aren't flashy at all and should perform well, but I've seen some people complain about the scroll wheel and sensor on some of the models.
