I just bought a gtx 1070 (pic related) and need some help goys.
I'm using the dp to minidp that came with my monitor (u2515h) to connect it. Playing overwatch was fine I saw no crashes but playing witcher 3 has caused loads of problems. Get a black screen every 5 minutes in witcher 3, once the black screen happens I can never get the desktop back, I do a forced reboot and the screen is still black, the only way to fix it is to swap out the cable for a different one, say I plug in a hdmi instead the image will be fixed and then I can switch back to the dp cable. This also happened with ghost of a tale. It just black screened the moment I opened it, restarting the computer just led to a black screen but swapping in the hdmi cable fixed it again.
How can I narrow down the problem? Is it the cable, the card, the monitor or is it just the games fault?

Well it sure looks like a cable or card problem to me.
Monitor/Games should be fine if they worked fine with another card.
I wish you could try another DisplayPort cable before we blame the card.

Could it just be shitty code in the game? Like how is it possible that doing a hard reset will yield no picture in my monitor? It doesn't even have the windows startup until I switch cables
