My external hard drive icon is messed up for some reason.

Fixes i've tried:
>rebuilding icon cache
>replacing "system32\imageres.dl"

How do i fix that?

It is probably looking for a ico image file stored on the external hard drive, or at least one that used to be there. You can either delete any autorun files on the hard drive to get Windows to display a default icon or specify a new ico file in the autorun.inf file and using an appropriate or custom ico image file.
