Where is the best place to download subbed anime that is older?

Nyaa works, but BakaBT is better. They have a blacklist of licensed content that they don't allow though.
BakaBT's blacklist: http://wiki.bakabt.me/index.php/Blacklist#Torrent_Content_Upload_Guidelines
AnimeBytes is the best, if you can get an invite or get your application approved.

AB has very few series you can't find elsewhere. Choosing to torrent off AB is more about specific torrents rather than finding series. For example, I found a really good encode of Death Note on AB that isn't on BakaBT or Nyaa.

Thus it is the best?
It is the end all be all place to find whatever you need. Near anything and everything you want will probably be there and with good seeds.
This is not the case on Nyaa or BakaBT, thus it is the best. Nyaa has a lot of stuff, but not everything and definitely not good seeds on everything. BakaBT has good seeds, but doesn't allow a lot of licensed series.
I understand what you're saying though. I do the same as well. I check Nyaa first, then I check BakaBT, then I cry if I need to download it off of AnimeBytes, which is almost never the case, but it can still happen. Or, like you said, AnimeBytes will have a specific encode or subgroup that doesn't exist anywhere else.

Hardly. I rarely ever torrent anything off AB. Mandatory seeding and ratio tracking means I will get it anywhere else if I can. I only download stuff during freeleech occasionally to keep my account active because I like having AB as a backup option. 99% of what I want can be found on Nyaa and BakaBT.
