I don't know anything about computers.
My friend laughed at my set up, an all in one hp pc, and gave me some computer parts and a tower.
He's told me the only parts i need are a monitor, disk drive, hard drive, power supply, and a video card.
I have 400$ right now and would love to use only that but am willing to spend under 600$
I've been playing games on this all in one and was hoping to finally make a real gaming computer, that runs above 12 frames.
Can someone help?
Also, this is my first post ever so sorry in advance.

Well, $400 doesn't get you very far, but if you're building it yourself, and it's a desktop, you can get enough mileage to run older things properly and newer things at at least 30 FPS.
What did your friend give you? Have you made a checklist?

He's given me the motherboard, RAM, CPU, and tower
I've already stated everything he said I needed.
Also, i don't mind going over 400$ for a better pc in the long run.
If there's anyway I could help you, help me, then just tell me what to do.
