I'm installing win10 tomorrow for the first time. I heard stories about how it spies on you, updates against your will etc. Most of the guides on how to disable that stuff I've seen after a bit of googling are from mid 2015. I'm not sure if these are still up to date, Microsoft has probably released some updates that broke these methods since then.
I would greatly appreciate some more up to date information on how to get rid of win10's nonsense.
look through all of /g/ posts (including the archive). theres posts on what you're looking for.

I hoped for some links or direct advice. /g/ is just full of memes and I can't post a request there.

Looks like these solutions weren't patched then. Thank you kind anon.
Literally google "windows 10 reddit" and the first 3 links should really help you out.
Not OP but I'm looking to block the Windows 10 telemetry servers using my router's HOSTS file. What addresses do I need to put in?

Thanks, anon.
Block urls at the hardware level. There is a list of urls that are said to be used by Windows 10 to send telemetry shit floating around.
you are clearly wearing a tinfoil hat
