Can't you just change the url from www. to ss no spaces it sends you to a site you can download it.
ex: www.youtube.com/asdfi to ssyoustube.com/asdfi

There are problems with 1080p, because audio and video are sent separately. You can use

http://www.clipconverter.cc/

which does support 1080p. (Don't click any options, just Download.)

Maybe not the easiest but I usually use keepvid.com to download YouTube videos.

I say it's not the easiest because if you want to download a video beyond 720p there won't be any audio unless you download both the 720p & the high res version then mux the audio using mkvtoolnix. The benefit to this though is that there's no re-encoding done to the video so you always get the highest quality possible at the best file size.
