i have noticed a common saying on 4chan: /thread
>what does /thread mean?
>when is it appropriate to say it?
pic unrelated
/thread is used when a reply is so perfect or relevant that seemingly nothing else can or should be said. Think of it like "That's it threads over now"
It's often times used tongue in cheek and meant as a joke.
Have a nice day/night newfriend.
It's an old web joke that references HTML tags. the / is used to signify the end tag for an element (e.g. <body> </body>, with the latter being the end tag). So going /thread is like saying "end thread," implying nothing more need be said.
Also keep in mind that you can't /thread yourself.
thank you!
