Don't use Rosette Stone, it's awful for teaching languages.

Languages are simple, use the Parento Principle, look up audio books for Pimsleur, Survival Pharases, or the Unabridged, this is assuming you want to learn by audio.

Been using a combination of DuoLingo and Memrise. Both good, and complementary. Fun too, which is important for keeping you going. Poke around the web for supplemental material.

Don't expect a miracle, it takes time.

If you wanna learn Japanese the game "Hiragana warriors" is pretty good. It's an RPG style game where you fight Hiragana characters by selecting what letter they represent. It's a fun way of learning basic Japanese
