David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer
>>899118
>it was his birthday 2 days ago
>his new album released yesterday
>He held off from dying just long enough for a new album to come out
RIP in piece you will be missed
>>899124
anything from Kojima yet?
he must be taking this hard
I guess he really was human after all
Epic Bowie coming in
Can anybody tell me what all the big fuss his? Honestly I tried to listen to his music but its all nonsense woaaah were spacemen type stuff.
>>899430
He was one of the coolest people to ever live and one of the most influential musicians of modern times.
>>899433
post examples
>>899437
Of what? Him being cool?
>>899118
Oh come off your dildo pussy boy
>>899118
>courageous
Not wanting to die. How courageous.
>>899303
What the hell is this from anyway? Some kinda movie? High budget music video?
RIP in peace
>>899437
Like all the artist of the world...
>>899430
Excuse me under 14 year old boy but David Bowie was the best pop sensation of the 80's and 90's and the good pop to not the shit stuff we have to day.
>>899430
Now this is shitposting!
>>899430

eh, just another artist dead. somehow, after they die they all become the greatest people to ever grace the earth. happend with cobain, jackson, williams, ledger, winehouse, etc and is bound to happen again. taste is subjective, so there's nothing wrong with not liking his music. just be aware that (as the reactions in this thread show) people don't take kindly to honesty about dead people, for whatever reason. i'm sure there are a select few who actually express their feelings since they've had a deep emotional bond with that artist. but most probably just jump the bandwagon. i guess it's a combination of rose-tinted memories bubbling to the surface, herd mentality and this weird social convention that you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead but instead laud them.
personally - meh, he's had some good music. nothing i would freak out about now. Space Oddity and the whole Major Tom business is kinda legendary though and has influenced many other artists and he's done some good collaborations as well (most notably to me with Queen on Under Pressure). but in total he's just another decent musician of days gone by.
>>900622
Watch out, youll cut yourself on that edge
>>900655
knee jerk much?
how is a moderate realistic position edgy? saying he's the best artist ever or saying he's a talent-less nobody is edgy. saying that realistically he's a decent artist is everything but edgy...
oh, i'm sorry. people die and people are irrational herd animals. wow, how edgy! how dare i state such outlandish claims...
>>900700
the parallel between you people and children is more apt than you realise
>>900700
aww, i'm so sorry. did i hurt your feelings? like, really bad?
here's something to console you: Bowie doesn't care. he probably didn't care before, but he sure as hell doesn't care right now. it's fine. there's no victim. all is well.
sleep tight, anon! hope you have sweet dreams tonight.
>>899477
I know you're trying to be edgy, but you're right, that is a bullshit normie mantra
he was awesome in the prestige
rip a great actor
I made a video in honor of David Bowie
Please check it out https://youtu.be/-1qiDi43_cM
so his pupils being the way they are is something natural for him? weird
>>901291
Thin White Duke a best Bowie
>>901573
Irises, not pupils.
I mean, there might be weird shit going on with his pupils, too, but that wouldn't be anything he was born with.
>>900850
Money didn't matter to him. He could have loaded up on drugs, did whatever the fuck he wanted before he died.
He made sure that his months were spent creating a goodbye album and music video for his millions of fans. He made his death into a piece of art.
He cared more about those who cared about him than most performers ever will.
>>901340
That was gay
>>899931
For more good acting by David, check out The man who fell to earth, i highly recommend it!
not really a video, I know but I love the song
>>901573
He was punched in the eye and his pupil was permanently dilated
>>900622
A friend of mine father worked as an Audio Engineer. He was working for one of Bowie's concerts and David came up to him to check on how things were going. He had a picture of his son on the equipment and David asked him about him. Told him to "tell me more about your son". Dude was classy as hell, loved his fans, and changed the music, and music video industry. His influence is felt in countless artists. Yeah, probably (certainly) did drugs...he was a child of the 60's and 70's, big shock. Yeah, some of his songs were real stinkers. What artist doesn't have a few? But his attitude, his influence, and even in the face of death his dedication make him way more than just "another artist". You can have your opinion, that's one thing, but denying the fact that he made a major difference in the industry is ignorant, and you just come off as a cunt.
>>902527
dat bringer of war tho
>>901527
90s bowie is worse bowie
give me something to webm
>>904350
she was in her peak at that age.
truly perfect
>>899477
They're referring to how he behaved towards the end, not that he managed to hang on until the album was out.
>>906322
>>906336
No fucking idea what's going on in the Blackstar video other than maybe a vague idea that the dead astronaut represents an end of Bowie's career in a way ('cos y'know he started out with Space Oddity and Starman, about spacemen launching and being in space, and the main video from his final album starts off with a spaceman dead on the ground), but the monobrow cat lady and the shaking-in-an-attic topless men I have no idea.
Slightly more in tune with what the video for Lazarus is about but even then I don't really get the woman under the bed or anything.
>>902862
>"tell me more about your son."
Yeah sure... old greasy pedo was for sure interested in your friend's son because he's classy. Keep telling yourself that.

So he entertained you with some songs, he didn't find a cure for cancer, he didn't save the planet from imminent doom, he didn't stop America from starting more trouble in some fucked up country. He was an entertainer, a very good one but let's not lose our heads about this.
/r/ing Webm of the first part of this song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-JqH1M4Ya8
>Look up here, I’m in heaven
>I’ve got scars that can’t be seen
>I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen
>Everybody knows me now
>Look up here, man, I’m in danger
>I’ve got nothing left to lose
>I’m so high it makes my brain whirl
He wrote this album knowing this was going to be his goodbye.
>>907152
Many thanks anon
that was alot faster than i was expecting
>>899303
Ryuchi Sakamoto > David Bowie
>>906374
Or maybe because he has kids too, you stupid fuck? But I get it, this is 4chan, so of course you would think anyone is a pedo. Fucking kill yourself.
>>906659
>>906676
I love the little details he hid as well. Like in this part, he wears the outfit and strikes the same pose as in this pic. I'll link it cause they only allow for webms here.
He also sings about his younger days, and dances in that part to reminisce about his glory days.

>>911260
His frustration here mirrors so many other Bisexuals' at the way we're talked to.
>>906370
the lady under the bed was cancer i think in the lazarus video
>>912962
to be fair that was in 1979
and also the woman was a pretty good interviewer otherwise, just look at the entire thing
>>901675
>HE'S GOT NO STYLE
>HE'S GOT NO GRACE
lmfao
To borrow from Kaufman, he was a song and dance man, in that he embodied multiple personas on both the stage and on screen, and set the bar for suave motherfuckers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIKa8JgVYkM
He'll always live on in my gay muscular anime
>>902862
>he was a child of the 60's and 70's
Nigga you don't even know what you're talking about. His debut released in -67 and he was a huge star by the 70´s already.
>>906370
The spaceman is both Major Tom and Ziggy Stardust as seen by the jeweld medallion on the skull's forehead.
Cat girl as in "Cat People" which was one of his songs.
>>924364
But that's wrong
Kira is the true Bowie Jojo
>>929126
Let's be honest. Most Jojo villains are Bowie, at least a little bit
>>907173
>>911269
Ow. Right in the feels.
Got some OC
>>936542
???
>>924557
He meant that a lot of people his age experimented with drugs in the 60's/70's. But I'm sure you knew that and just wanted to argue.
>>937352
That's a retarded way to say it.
>>937563
Either you're twelve years old, or you're just trolling pretty bad
>>938558
>over 20 years old superstar by the end of the 60's
>child
Twist it how you want retard.
>>939864
being a child of your time isnt meant to be taken literal, it's an expression. Not sure who the retard is here
>>940022
I'm sure it's you.
>>940038
great comeback m80
>>940128
Well I'm not the one making up definitions in my head m8.
>>940218
Never heard of the term Zeitgeist?
>>940022
I agree. I mean who takes Bowie literal lost already.
>>941085
childs? the fact that you don't know the plural form of the word child says enough about your knowledge of the English language.
Being part of a Zeitgeist/ being a child of your own time is the same thing
>>906370
>I am god, I am not god. I am everything, I am nothing. I am the black star.
may sound like a bunch of wank, but this is the thought that popped into my head when I first watched it.
this song is cocaïne
>>941511
That's quite thick coming from someone who can't type properly.
The point stands, Bowie wasn't a child of the 70's.
Source is me, I sucked his dick in the 70's and he mentioned that he's not a child anymore.
>>940035
Fuuuuuuck I had forgotten that this commercial existed.
just found this tread
wunderful
we’re not alone
>>943566
I just saw this last Christmas, I'd never seen him on anything before that but it was a good performance given what he was working with, your director and co-actors speaking another language altogether

One of my fav interviews.
>>984248
Absolute perfection.
Another semi-talented guy overrated to all hell because he was attractive.
>>906370
Pretty sure the "shaking" was a reference to the dance he does in the music video for Fashion. If you're a longtime fan of David you'll catch the symbolism in most (if not everything) in the video.
>>1018262
You sound like a raging faggot
>>1018262
I have to reluctantly agree. After a 10 min search on youtube and going through this thread I do not see the appeal. Apparently he did matter and was leading for the genre of pop music, but I don't see why. What did he do that others had not done before?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMThz7eQ6K0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyMm4rJemtI
It's a perennial top three Bowie song for me but one version has better video, the other version has better audio :S
>>935806
>Hi George
>Oh never mind I'll call you later
:3
>>924364
Wrong, he'll always live on in my gay vidya
>>1019466
what are you doing that others haven't?
>>899459
"Eww someones paying respect to a person they idolize, i have different idols though so fuck him"
>>899125
this made me feel for some reason...
>>904316
Made love for the first time to this song. Fucking magical.
>>899118
>>1019466
Dude brought ambient/general experimental to the mainstream after Eno tried for years and couldn't.
Anyone got bowie being sexy during the 70's era? Maybe something from the Ziggy Stardust movie?
>>914051
is the closest we've got
>>1047296
here's something I found that I could do in the little time I had.
His is the first 'celebrity' death that I feel genuine loss over, I feel I didn't appreciate him enough while he was still alive - as if that could possibly effect anything.
I love his work but I still cannot listen to his music since he passed. I listened to the Blackstar album once, and cried from the first notes.
Yes I'm a faggot, but I still feel bereaved even if I never knew him.
>>1058492
I don't listen to Blackstar very often for that exact reason, but the rest I've begun listening to even more.
>mfw this thread is is 4 months old
>>1063842
pretty young
>>1063945
comepletly ageless just like bowie was
>>1053750

>>1141460
He probably didn't even die. Like Michael Jackson and Prince they just got red pilled

Listen to Low and Heroes.
If you don't like it you are probably plebian.

>David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer
No one dies peacefully from cancer.
No one battles cancer courageous.
Cancer just destroys you. Your body shuts down, one function after another. Your brain falls apart, and all you realise is how you get slower. You lack the ability to see how your mind is falling apart. You get reduced to basic grunts, twitches, and you become trapped in your exhausted body.
The only thing you can do to leave peacefully is off yourself when it is time. Cancer will not let you go peacefully. You don't just fall asleep. You drift into a state of delirium, with brief interruptions where you get to mumble a single word, make a single grunt, and then you are out of it again. You feel your family holding your hands, but the best response you can give is a pained groan.
And then, when you are lucky, when it is finally over, you exhale one last time and your body turns your brain off. And then you are gone.
t. someone who watched over his father "courageously battleing with cancer" for 6 months until he died whilst I held his hand
>>1150687
cool story
>>1150687
you're new to the whole edgy thing right?
Bowie finishes his album, gets everything set for it's release, sets his will up and brings his family together all while working around the cancer slowly killing him, and goes out on his own terms. Only thing better would be to shoot him into space to be the first man on mars or some epic David Bowie level shit. he's got the good drugs, and the drive to do shit right before moving on.
How could this thread possibly still be up after 6 and a half months? Is /wsg/ that small of a board??

nobody has found a cure for cancer m8 why is that a criteria for being a good person
also he was from the UK, not america
also i dont think anyones losing their heads except these 'heh bowie was shit nothing personal kid' posters
like its a thread for fans of his, people make threads for individual celebs all the time

Why the even fuck does Audi even need a commercial?
