It does take them a while to get on with solving the murder, and there generally isn't high tension of 'a muderer on the loose.' It definitely picks up near the end, but that's hard to avoid with a mystery style show. I can't say it's remarkable as I generally don't watch mystery. I more appreciated the character's and the art design of the series.

I think (as is generally true with mystery/thriller) it'd probably benefit from marathoning so all the small details stick from one episode to the next. It can also help remedy slower pacing.

This guy gets it. The good voice actors are the good actors and the english ones want to do live action. The pool of good english voice actors is puny compared to japans.

Id recommend only two dubs total, bebop and dbz kai, and mostly just because of the crappy recording setups they must have been using at the time, the helsing and FMP brotherhood dubs hired well but so did the natives.

2. if you compare frames in multiple sections between those 2 videos you'll find the first is noticeably cleaner

The whole appeal of Monogatari is the funny conversations the characters have, and the varied animation styles that highlight their situation and relationship. The only thing Ore is really missing out on, arguably, is Araragi. Not everyone likes the books and adaptations that follow the secondary characters like it does, but there will always be people who don't like something about anything. If you can appreciate it for what it is, it's a fun complement to the main series.

Didn't play it. From what I can see it's completely different than the anime, so it seems like it'd pretty good. Ratings put it at okay. English patch exists if you don't speak Yamato. Can't get the best ending after one playthrough, though. Hopefully it has a speed-up option.
