Happens in other forms of entertainment too. Where a comedian will stop to take a drink of water and the audience will do a round of applause for the show they had received until that point. It's not really a rule, it's just a natural thing that happens every so often.

Kind of like how when you watch something amazing, with lots of action, you're just sitting there still taking it in, and at the end you go woah. Or maybe during a slow part when you have time to take a breath. I don't know if I articulated that well enough.

Not that anon, I can kinda agree with you on the fact that it isn't conventional Voguing. But they did heavily adopt from it and applied their own style, which is a pretty common thing with most dance types with newer generations or outsiders, and yes there is always the controversy to avoid bastardization, so to speak.
