Cross is a decent JRPG, doesn't really hold up to Trigger but it was trying to be it's own thing.
It does have one the best soundtracks of it's generation if not gaming in general.

Guy you replied to here. I'll admit that it was probably less of a time thing and more of an upbringing thing.
>parents enforced the ESRB ratings
>mostly had console games, played some PC games my dad had (HoMM3, roller coaster/zoo/dino tycoon, that ant smashing desktop game)
>Everyone in my neighborhood/school were filthy casuals with no decent games (except one kid who had 007 Goldeneye before he moved away)
>First MMO was WoW a week before BC hit because parents were scared of cyber-rapists getting me if I talked to people online
>only got Xbox live in the Xbox 360 era due to same reason
While the SNES and N64 were the shit, I feel I missed out on a ton of PC games and some console games (due to ESRB issues).
>My first shooter was Halo
>This was only because my cousin brought it over and told my parents it wasn't graphic.

Fuck
Does anyone ever play something and feel like they missed something? Let me explain:
Everytime I read about people playing Shadow of the Colossus, they're all going "ooh, it was so sad when I killed one of the beasties" etc etc. When I played it (back when it came out actually, when I was little) I felt nothing when I killed the monsters. Just "one down, X to go" sort of thing.
I've never worked out why and its bugged me all these years.
no webM but

>them feels
>>843254
Game developers aim for what they call "immersion" for games like that. They want the player to feel immersed in the game psychologically, to feel that they are experiencing the game's world as more than just images on a screen. A player who feels something when playing the game has become immersed in the fictional world. You were not experiencing immersion, and were just playing as a game and nothing more. Sounds like you had a more goal-oriented play style, or maybe you were more grounded in reality instead letting your imagination take over. Nothing wrong with that.
>>843295
Huh. Never thought of it like that before, thanks.
Not technically the game's soundtrack, I know, but I thought it was worth showing anyway.

5Hz is waaaay below the minimum frequency the human ear can detect. Even a Super Sayan of music listening would not hear it. That is why it disturbs me, why did they put that here if no one on Earth can hear it ?
