Country Girls. They still exist but Yamaki Risa and Ozeki Mai only do activities when there's school breaks. The other members Morito Chisaki, Yanagawa Nanami, and Funaki Musubu were transferred to other h!p groups while still also being in Country Girls. It's weird and hasn't happened before. I didn't agree previously but the arguments have been made:

1. Sasshi winning ruined AKB by winning the sousenkyo with her scandal!
Rebuttal: Purityfags are trash, also AKB is better off now that AkiP has realized that purity isn't as big of a deal (which he has attributed in interviews to Sasshi's popularity). Also Minegishi team 4 might not have happened if Sasshi didn't win, and I think that Minegishi team 4 was great for AKB altogether.

2. The "invincible center" doesn't exist anymore because Sasshi keeps winning!
Rebuttal:This is true, but not that big of a deal. The center position for normal senbatsu has been floating around different girls fo a bit, and even though they keep using the phrase "immovable center" there hasn't been someone who dominated both SS and normal senbatsu like Acchan or Yuko, but that's arguably a good thing. It has let the other groups shine and maintained a good base of girls whose popularity can catch up to the graduating members
3.Sasshi winning Sousenkyo for the third time in a row and by 100,000 votes is literally good for no one but Sasshi!
Rebuttal: It's not Sasshi's fault what Sasshi fans do.
4. Sasshi winning 3 times caused Mayuyu to quit!
Rebuttal: Even though I'm starting to believe this more and more because of how hard their PR is trying to deny it, see above. Also if true, Mayuyu needs some thicker skin.

But now we have Sasshi literally starting a competing idol group. No rebuttal to that. And this is a not a good time for AKB.

I agree that i don't think she deserves to be, and i cannot understand why she is either; other than her physical beauty.

Personality-wise i always found her to be too blase about everything and i get the impression that she isn't very conscientious about being an idol. This, in of itself doesn't bother me either, but i would have thought it would definitely be trait unworthy of popularity among the fans. And yet, it is or maybe the fans don't see it or maybe its just me. Yes its very strange indeed.

To her credit, i have been told that behind the scenes, she's apparently a 'good producer'. But i don't really know what that means to be honest.

As for starting a rival idol group. Is it really 'her's' though? Or is it just another manufactured 'rival group' like N46? Like, all the groups are basically owned by the same network or whatever right?

Also, re: not being conscientious about being an idol: I strongly disagree. She was a hikki idol otaku before joining AKB and she still goes on 2ch a bunch and looks at what her fans are saying. Being blase about things is actually part of what makes her popular; it makes her seem like she isn't completely a part of the idol world and is more one of them. That video proves both our points really lol. The fact that she's the sort of person to bail out on school, to stay home and post on 2chan, says a lot about the character flaws she has that im referring too. That sort of behavior is not "conscientious". I mean conscientious it in the sense of someone being duty-bound and striving to perform their best and act by example. I certainly agree she cares about idolling and others opinions in so much as it furthers her own interests but i don't think she cares about the philosophy of idolling, as a "profession" and duties that go along with it. She just seems to do the bare minimum to get by. Whereas other idols put in way more effort, have way more talent, are more likable as a celebrity and yet still dwindle in obscurity or on the sidelines.
I'm not saying shes the worst idol ever. I like her, and enjoy watching her on all the various shows she's done. I just don't get why she's popular (and continues to be) on a mainstream level. Idols like Yuko, Maeda and Mayu made perfect sense. But she just doesn't, and the fact that her notoriety was born out of a damn sex-scandal rumor and her subsequent drafting to HKT makes it all the more strange. There are definitely other idols in the senbatsu that are more deserving of a win. I just wish the fans could see it. Monopolies are never a good thing. BTW I would be equally annoyed if any other idol kept winning over and over again too.
