I have to chime in when people say good or bad things about this game.
It's honestly only topped by halo 3(because customs) for me, which says a lot because the story is a bit inconsistent, but as a stand alone it plays the emotions so well and delivers a level of immersion that no halo game has.

As "edgy" as the trilogy went after the first one, I think Jak and Daxter hit the marks when it came to setting a tone. When I was a kid, I loved playing "war" in the battle-torn parts of Haven City for hours even after i beat the game.
