Not even remotely. He's supposed to come across as an unlikable (yet still awkward) cunt in this scene and he does. The corny tone of the scene is in keeping with the rest of the trilogy. I don't understand how people can enjoy the first two films and find this scene in particular so egregious. Spider-Man 3 has a good chunk of problems but emo Peter isn't one of them.
