These film/television threads are pretty slow, last time I remember it was only at 12 or something.
I'm not OP, but there isn't even a film thread that's been archived in the past few weeks.
At least this thread has some quality stuff in it, usually people post shitty cartoons.
>>1801255
The first movie was great, but really it didn't need a sequel. Mr. Aimbot gets old after a while.

Any other good episodes of The Twilight Zone?

It's slow, because I'm on holidays and with crappy net, so I literally can't post before captcha resets.
And I'm not talking about 4chin archive, but the outside ones. Believe it or not, but /wsg/ has storage, along with webms posted in them.

What am I missing if this is considered one of the better comedies made in past 50 years? I mean other Brooks movies made me at least chuckle, but this one was a complete dud for me.
>>1805468
>n-th time

>/wsg/ storage
You mean those other archive websites where people save threads. Sure some threads that are important are worth saving, but why the hell would you bother saving threads on /wsg/, especially these shitty threads.
Just save the webm you like, if its popular then it gets posted again.

More a product of its time than something that still stands up today. Fart jokes are a dime a dozen nowadays, but that campfire scene was, at the time, revolutionarily crass and hilarious in its audacity. For example.

>>1806998
The difference between the two of them really is the physical comedy rather than the slapstick of Chaplin.
What made Chaplin great for so many was that he was the everyday man comedian.
Keaton also did nearly everything in one take. If he couldn't get it done in one take he wouldn't want it in the film. So a lot of the stunts and shit he does is done in one take.
He also takes mistakes of his and uses them in conjunction with the movie. He'll sometimes build the movie or a joke around the mistake as a call back.
As such it would be fairly easy to see Chaplin play it safer and as such be more common and more widely seen than Keaton. As such Chaplin (the name in of itself stands out) would be far more well known and favoured by most people.
However, when people dig a little deeper they come across the true king of comedy. Rather than the clown of comedy.

Right there with you on that opinion. "Based on the Novel..." isn't even close to how little the movie draws from the book.
Though to be fair, there are a lot of elements of the movie that are great, such as the Music composition, as evident by the Intro.
But the worst part is that we'll have to wait 4-7 more years for the movie to fade away, so people can associate the name "World War Z" with a new TV series, rather than this movie.
>>1816781
Don't want to break it for you, but since everyone and their dog are now sick and tired of zombies, there won't be any TV series.
And the sequel of WWZ is in development hell right now, most likely will end up cancelled. For the record, it's still in production, but it's still on the same stage of production for past year.
So tough luck being you.
Also, the opening is literally taken from Dawn of the dead remake and recut with slightly different music and style.
>>1814197

What do you mean? The first thing he says? I'm not sure I'm hearing it right but it sounds like he's saying "Con paz, con paz" which does translate to "in peace, in peace". At first I thought he was saying "Compas" which means "friends" or "dudes" depending or what part of latin america you're from. But it sounds like he's saying the first thing, "con paz". The rest of the translation is fine, which isn't much really.
>>1804847

That bit right at the start where he exits the cell especially. Is it the same location?
>>1818251
This argument is bullshit. Ridley always wanted to do more on screen but was limited by special effects at the time, even shooting a big fight scene between the crew of the Nostromo and the creature. As someone who is a fan of creature films this trend is great even if it makes for a worse horror movie.

You really think that even a MAJORITY of people would think this way?
We can't even get a majority of Americans to accept climate change, evolution, or the big bang, and you think that the whole world wouldn't rise up against America after forcing literally every nation to set off their entire nuclear arsenal?
>>1831507
without the nukes we'd still curb stomp them.
if we had planned to force all the counrties to set off their nukes we would have also had a follow up strategy to pull the rug out from under the biggest threats like china, the uk, and russia. this is all possible though if everyone is completely caught by surprise by the attack otherwise its us verse the world. like pearl harbor but on a global scale.
>>1831540
Yeah, because they would all attack immediately, and not set up an offensive that would absolutely shit on us.
Yeah, we spend more money on defense than the next 7-8 countries, but that don't make us invincible.
Even if we could "curb stomp them" it wouldn't be without MASSIVE casualties on our end, and that's not even talking about the HUGE amount of civil unrest that would crop up IN the U.S.
Get real, man.
