boring but some good character development

generic shonen tournament arc, there are like 2 great fight scenes and a bunch of decent ones

>Yorknew City arc
GOAT villains and great fight scenes, even if the main characters don't actually do anything for the entire arc

>Greed Island arc
remember that time that yugioh stopped being about card games and started being about a virtual D&D world for a while? It's like that but with A+ fight scenes

>Chimera ant arc, first half
spends the entirety of the arc building up characters that don't matter, setting up villains that don't do anything, and the main characters training

>Chimera ant arc, second half
there are about a dozen too many characters and they all do things at the same time, so each episode ends up feeling like nothing is happening until the last few episodes

like, there's a 10 episode stretch where only about a minute passes In-world, because the episodes each have to focus on so many fucking characters.
