I thought that I would need to make something very small in order to avoid exceeding the file-size limit, so I created a mostly-unintelligible drawing to accompany a selection of music that is, in this context, relatively long. After processing the components into a webm, I found that it only took up two MB. The result of two hours of labor was what would be the worst gondola in this thread attached to a musical excerpt which, on account of the poor quality of the image, has no discernible connection to said image.

I actually think it's very cute - something about the graininess works very well. The only two points of critique I would offer is this:

1. The music seems overly dramatic for the setting, but could work very well against a more gruesome backdrop. Maybe swap the music for something more minimalistic?
2. Ideally, Gondola does not display obvious emotion. The sentiment of a Gondola image or animation should emanate not from the creation itself, but entirely from the viewer's experience and response. Unless you're greatly attached to the way it is now, I'd suggest removing the teardrop and making the mouth smaller and more neutral.
