My issue with polling is that it's more of an art than a science, because you are always playing catch-up with how people feel. They tried to account for things like Hillary's turnout being lower because she isn't black like Obama, but you can't account for everything, and so they make predictions on their high horses and then get BTFO. Nate Silver was supposedly godly at predicting the outcome (I think he got 50/50 states and 49/50 states in 2008 and 2012) but he was totally wrong in 2016. There is too much luck and guesswork involved for someone to say that polls are an objective measure.

We should have financial rewards for being a good teacher and not just base everything on length of time worked. Teach life skills and help students understand their passions.

Okay, let's say that matters. By a few percent margin, half the country wanted Trump as president. Are you saying that those few percent matter so much, it discredits his whole presidency? It was more or less 50/50, so it was never a big deal who won, democracy-wise. Had it been 20/80, it would've been a very good point. But it was in all practical terms 50/50. Now the rules are such that it isn't the popular vote that counts, it is the electoral college. So, protest that system if you have a problem. But remember ~50% of the population voted for Trump, so the integrity of the democracy isn't an issue. It's a technicality that allows for these scenarios.
