Well, if you consider one thing, that the point of these sparring fights seems to be touching the opponent with some degree of impact, then of course the longer the weapon the more of a advantage you'd have.

A real proper zweihander was really heavy. If a swing would miss, then you'd be in all kinds of trouble. So without weight this is just an exercise in seeing how easy it is to reach something if you have a longer stick.

I get why the referee stop the fight. I don't think it was fully intentional, but at one hand, it looks like the chinese guy was holding his opponent by the gloves (I know it was the wrist, it merely looks like the gloves), and at the other, the judo move is more a pull and leverage, while that technique was full on overextending, which could look like a dislodging. Heck, on the judo match, it looks like the elbow was rotated so the articulation goes around the waist, merely causing the opponent to lose his equilibrium or posture without causing harm. But in the first match, the chinese guy was full on twisting his opponent's arm.
