Opinion time.
Whenever I start a new series, I do it right. Start to finish.

With Jack, however, I saw the first few episodes way back when, never quite got full into it and only saw bits and pieces as time went on, as well as some of the more loved episodes, like the Scotsman, the jump good stuff, and three archers. Season five was the first season I saw all off, and I wasn't lost for a second.

You can live with skipping episodes, even just watching S5. But if you're a purist, watch it all.

The firefly symbolizing jack, as the darkness (Aku's daughters) is encroaching and snuffing the flame of his life, his hope, and fear all resting in that faint glimmer of life within him.

The music drawing out the emotions of the viewer, setting the tension as you know that it's not a matter of IF they find him, it's a matter of when, and if this place that has seen the falling of one civilization, will see the fall of the world as a whole.

That's not even including how the camera angles evoked feelings of helplessness, loss, and the slimmest bit of hope.
