Yeah but the reason the "basic parts" are cheaper in prebuilt shitboxes such as hp is because they do not use quality parts (they are generally not under a namebrand besides the CPU and possibly the motherboard) or building practices. The places that sell prebuilts with actual namebrand hardware are the ones that are selling gaming branded stuff for huge markups. Average people buy something from HP/Dell etc. and when you have shitty parts under one warranty you end up having to spend more money on repairs and replace the whole computer a lot sooner. Not to mention the bloatware etc you have to deal with.

At this point if you are using a desktop for normal light use there is no reason to not just be using a laptop instead unless you don't want your PC to be prebuilt to avoid all the issues prebuilt PC's have since it's not really viable to build your own laptop.
