Format: webm
Go to codec tab.
Codec: libvpx
Rate control: average bitrate
Bitrate: I used 768k for this one, higher = better quality, higher filesize
Check the Dual pass box.
Go to audio tab.
Codec: vorbis
The default settings here are fine.
Go to other tab.
Paste this in, one on each line:

movflags=+faststart
crf=23
threads=3
slices=8

Lower crf = better quality, higher filesize. 23 is a good starting point
Threads = the number of cores your CPU has, minus one (because cores are numbered starting at zero)
Slices = the number of cores your CPU has * 2

Try reducing the resolution, you can do that in the "Resize" tab, then go to "Encoding" and, in the webm. size limit bar, put 3.99, make sure to check the high quality button.

Also, for a 2 minute video, you're probably gonna need to reduce the resolution down to 4-500 in the top tab, if you still have room for a larger resolution, do eet.

Also, what >>1671040 said, you're going to want to line up text changes with beats on the song. Doing it on measure changes (so every 4 beats for most music) typically will give you good sync and enough time to read the slide.

Here's an example from one of my earlier bumps.

umm. i struggle with this too so i know the feel. i hate macs with a passion but its the only available to use. id recommend getting an learning ffmpeg but command line interfaces might be tough for you (theu are for me) so i recommend iffmpeg (its a gui case for ffmpeg) its quite good but its has limited usage but getting an older version extends it but i dont know for how long. also i think if you dig hard enough you can delete the tag that makes it a limited usage effectively resitting it.

addendum: you'll usually also want to use a part of the song that starts X measures before a drop or main theme or chorus, where X is how many slides you have, so the beginning of your main image/scene occurs at the same time the song gets going.

nah it's not a requirement and adult swim (on their more atmosphere still-camera/slow drone pan shots) have traditionally just hidden [as] with low transparency somewhere in the background, not in the corner so it's not even really based on that.

I personally use Premiere, but literally any video editing software, even the free ones like imovie or windows movie maker, should let you put white text in a font of your choice over a black background and stitch together a few clips.

In most video editing software that isn't Movie Maker there's a "center" button on any text/title cards.

As for audio sync, most video editing software will show you a waveform in the timeline. Additionally, scrubbing through the timeline will usually also play a tiny snippet of audio. If you're extremely finicky and need millisecond accurate timing, make a "click track" in some external audio software and use the waveform of that instead, e.g. if the song is 120bpm, make a track of a repeating short click noise at 120bpm, where the first click matches the first beat of the song, and throw that into your video editor so that it shows up nice and clear on the video.

This usually isn't necessary because just scrubbing through the song should give you good enough timing for [wsg] style bumps.
