Don't know if you're being serious, but just in case you are, don't.

Most of the honey you can find in a shop is watered down. In fact, if the honey's been pasteurized at all - that's a guarantee it's been watered down.

Pasteurization isn't necessary for honey because it's already anti-microbial and keeps for years/decades. The only reason to do it is to cut the honey with water or to filter out all the bits of bee/wax/whatever that might be in the honey.

9/10 times it's to water it down.
>>
>>1624102
>it has to be bees that are mysteriously dying
It's not a mystery, they're dying because there's no reason to keep them alive, people need to buy more honey.
>>

My family are actually bee keepers, historically. We own a dozen acres of century old pecan trees in arizona, and raise bees in the forest, or at least we used to. We stopped about 15 years ago, 'cause none of the younger generation wanted to be stuck running it. In retrospect, it might be cool, other than the fact that I'd be stuck with satellite internet, but I digress.

My brother used to have horrible allergies. Springtime made him borderline asthmatic, we had to use a humidifier just so he could breath. My grand-uncle caught wind of this, and brought my brother a special jar of raw honey, easily the size of his head, and told him specifically, eat a sandwich with this, or drink a glass of tea every meal. Brother kept at it, even though he got tired of PB&H, but he finished the jar, in about a year's time. Pollen doesn't bother him anymore, he went from being the bespectacled nerd to being a serious musclebro. I'm not saying raw honey should be the key ingredient in a super-soldier serum, but I will say no one can claim otherwise.

How do you harvest honey from a beehive without killing all the bees through starvation anyway. Don't they eat it?

Do they just make THAT much excess honey that you're fine to take this much of it without damaging the hive? Do you have to skip certain harvests so they can recover?

Yup, the Flow Hive shattered IndieGoGo records by meeting its $70k goal in under an hour and hitting $12m, then delivered all units on time as promised with no significant hitches.

The main objections to survive the 2015-2016 backlash that comes prior to people actually testing it out now come mostly from luddites among the beekeeping community, while most veteran beekeepers and ecologists have embraced and praised it, at the very least as introductory to personal and urban hives and complementary for mid-to-large operations.

Here's one 2017 overview that is considerably more measured than those of 2016:

There's nothing wrong with actually eating insects. That's how junglebros in Indochina and Guatemala were able to get enough sustainable protein to build advanced ancient civilizations. The analogue is societies that eat lobsters, crabs, oysters, and snails, which have been considered icky by others such as the Indigiones in Boston Harbor when British colonists arrived and resorted to eating lobster when the latter couldn't grow enough food.

I won't make a crack about them being over-optimistic about Americans and math. Instead, I am happy that they challenge their American audience that if they *cannot* do the math, then they will not get their hand held.

Indeed, by not giving the answer away, we imply to our audience that this is the minimum expectation for being of adequate capability in our society. Maybe then we won't have 98% of Americans polled saying they are smarter than average, or thinking that algebra is "advanced" math.

Thats a paperwasp nest you fucktard. Honeybees can't build superstructures like this, they find a a tree with an alcove or some nook or cranny or non-moving branches and build a natural sheets of waxcomb from bodily-produced materials.

Wasps don't produce honey. This is why it is called a nest, not a hive, because they only rear young and expand the nest in their combs.

My question to anyone with beekeeping experience. What specifically, would happen if one simply kept beeboxes and a huge field of flowers and left the bees alone.
No harvesting, no smoking, no nothing.

Doesn't have any hallucinogenic effects, just regular honey. Those guys aren't bee keepers, they are honey hunters. They don't have managed hives, they search in the jungles of south east asia for wild honey bees, some of entirely different species than apis mellifera. This can be a dangerous job, on cliff sides or more than 100 feet up a tree.

From Wikipedia:

Many of the solitary wasps are parasitoidal, meaning that they raise their young by laying eggs on or in other insects (any life stage from egg to adult). Unlike true parasites, the wasp larvae eventually kill their hosts. Solitary wasps parasitize almost every pest insect, making wasps valuable in horticulture for biological pest control of species such as whitefly in tomatoes and other crops.

>My question to anyone with beekeeping experience. What specifically, would happen if one simply kept beeboxes and a huge field of flowers and left the bees alone.
>No harvesting, no smoking, no nothing.
First off it depends on the bees and their situation. Ideally if their numbers are low and there's enough food they will try to produce a queen unless they already have one. Second, it depends on if you've already somewhat pushed them towards the beeboxes or not. They would probably choose a fallen log or something over the beeboxes since it would be closer and more enclosed. Either way, at that point they will continue to grow until they reach a certain point where they feel like the area they are in is not suitable for the amount of bees being reared and the amount of honey they can store which would cause a swarm situation.

Assuming you had infinite boxes stacked on top of each other with infinite frames and entrances you would most likely see them staying in that spot just ever expanding until either their food storage runs out, the winter kills a bunch of them, all the flowers die due to some freak weather, or the queen dies and they can't produce another one for some reason.

TL;DR it would most likely result in a swarm and them leaving due to an inadequate living area after long enough time staying there or some sort of food issue.
