Because modern movies love their Action Girl Female Leads (tm) but remember, actually showing violence against women is baaaaaad. So instead of a believable fight scene where the girl actually gets hit once in a while the Bad Guys are basically just there to be Bozo Bop punching bags, and the girl just comes across as a pathetic Mary Sue.

Notice how none of the stormtroopers in the Rogue One webm even TRY to hit her or fight back at all? It looks fucking retarded. The choreography in Pandorum isn't even good, yet it looks 10x better because it actually looks like, you know, a fight scene.
