It's CW man, what do you expect? Honestly, the great tragedy is that WB/DC continue to put their comic shows on that trash network, while Marvel gets shows like Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil on fucking Netflix.

a crossbow would fire with enough energy to bury those bolts (bows fire arrows, crossbows fire bolts) up to the fletching (the feathers). also he wouldn't be standing. those broadheads are basically razorblades and would cause extreme trauma and bloodloss. he would instantly collapse to the ground and be unable to speak. it would do more harm then a single arrow from that bow. it would take five minutes of basic research to find this out so I have no idea what the showwriters were thinking if they were thinking at all because this thing looks stupid and makes no sense since the guy who caught the arrow and got shot by the bolts is not wearing body armor which wouldn't matter because modern soft body armor can't stop crossbow bolts either unless he's wearing hard ceramic plates which would have clear bulges and you can see he's not wearing those in the video or else the bolts would bounce off like they're being shot at a tank

Funny thing is the crossbows aren't even there when Berry catches the arrow, you can see the post that the left crossbow is by and there is nothing there, but after he gets shot it's magically there
>>1649392
How can he conserve the momentum of the bullets and create new momentum for their hands?
Not really sure which is more unreal. I mean, when he pushes the bullets shouldn't they just keep going since air isn't going to resist that fast right? Also it seems like the hand of the guy would just smack him while in "freeze mode" and then stop as soon as time goes freely
Someone mind explaining?
>>1665263
>Someone mind explaining?
Sure.
1) It's a movie.
2) It's a movie based on a comic book.
It's 2017. Superhero movies and TV shows have been around for over 10 years, and guess what! None - absolutely 0% - of the modern superhero media has been faithful to their source material, and even fewer have explained the logistics behind the crime fighting or the superpowers. If you're expecting anything more at this point your disappointment or lack of understanding is on you. Writers aren't physicists or engineers, and to hire a consultant for their target audience (re: 12-year-olds, NOT you) and for every issue/episode/movie is both absurd and too expensive.
>>1665292
I'm in my 20's and I still like a good superhero movie, as long as they don't do what you said about abondoning logic and etc. As to the 12 year old part, are you talking to me m8?
>>1665297
>as long as they don't do what you said about abondoning logic and etc.
I know, what I am saying is you're expecting too much from your superhero media.
>As to the 12 year old part, are you talking to me m8?
I said precisely the opposite - that superhero media is targeted at 12 year olds, not you.
>>1665305

The effects are the least of it's troubles, the real problem is the writers/directors can't write credible threats 90% of the time.
>I'm barry allen, I'm the fastest man alive
>I'm so fast I can travel through time
>A gorilla kicks my ass
>Some clown put handcuffs on me and then activated the bomb attached to them, and I just watched.

Once again - if it bothers you, don't watch.
>>1693575
>I want better effects on a glorified soap opera
Kill yourself or stop watching. Either way, rid us of your unreasonable demands.
The fact remains that the effects are miles above cartoons (b-but my nostalgia!) and light years beyond 66 Batman, Smallville, and 90's Flash.
I agree that the writing could use some work, or some new talent, but again - it's a glorified soap opera. If it bothers you that much, stop watching. Simple as that.

Why the fuck can't entertainment actually do something for your brain, instead of this schlock?
>>1696904
>stop liking what I don't like
no
>>1696904
1. There's a lot of interesting sci-fi themes played out throughout the series, even though they're generally handled poorly.
2. The effects, although cheesy at times (I'm looking at YOU, Gorilla City!) are better than we could have hoped for in a TV serial drama.
3. Muh nostalgia! for those of us that watched [BLANK]:TAS/JLA/JLU
4. Colorful villains
If you don't like it, don't watch. If you don't like people watching it or talking about it, too bad. Imagine they're all Sheldon Cooper or something and just avoid them. But FFS stop talking down to us for liking a TV show - your hatred is more ridiculous than our fandom.
>>1696909
>>stop liking what I don't like
This, this is literally the only argument I've heard in defense of still liking something who's target audience is 13 years old, it's the same with the MLP shit.
To use another example, I don't really think building ships in a bottle is interesting, but at least people who do it can talk about it in an interesting way "It's like a puzzle that you're never quite sure if it will come together in the end. It's a challenge. I've learned a lot about naval history trying to reconstruct boats."
But the fucking mouthbreathers who watch this are basically like "He fast, I like it, I like the merch." You guys are being fucking played by companies that want to sell you shit so they are squeezing out a barely passable product so that you do buy more shit, how can you not fucking see that?
>>1696914
>this show was made to sell things
>just like every show ever made in the history of television
You think Jeopardy was made to give out money to smart people? Advertisers buy commercial time so they can sell you things while your watching. It's the same with every show no matter what the show is. And further, the commercials shown reflect the target audience of the show in which they're featured. It's why you see toy commercials on CN and JG Wentworth commercials during Price is Right.
All TV shows are made to sell something. Fucking calm down before you develop an ulcer.
>>1665263
This. Also, a .38 bullet from a revolver travels at around 800-900 mph (maybe a little slower due to the plastic body of the revolvers), and in this scene, Quicksilver's moving SO fast the bullets are literally suspended in air from his point of view.
Just poking that guard's cheek with his index finger would've turned his whole upper-body into pink mist.
>>1696913
You seem like a reasonably smart person, so I don't want to come off as antagonizing to your points, but I want to go through them.
1. Interesting Sci-fi themes handled poorly
Why not get into sci-fi that handles it's themes well? Philip K. Dick, Asimov, tons of really top teir sci-fi movies. Sci-fi is a vehicle for tackling present day problems and the human condition, it's why people love things like Blade Runner, Brazil, and Moon; it isn't about the special effects, it's about the themes that underpin it.
2. Special effects
[re: every transformers movie argument]
3. Nostalgia
Just imagine a 70 year old man with a house stuffed with Howdy Doody stuff, or just constantly watching it, and tell me you aren't just slightly weirded out.
4. colorful villains
Again, it's like the sci-fi argument. Having a complicated villain who has motivations that aren't just "evil" gives you an opportunity to wrestle with the themes of a movie/show (and again, motivations besides revenge or something). As shitty as Prometheus was on the whole, David's motivations made sense, he wasn't just an evil robot who wanted to kill all of the humans.
I mean at my core, I don't really give a shit who watches what, I'm just saying, you're being pandered to at the lowest common denominator, and are just eating it up without thought.
>>1696919
Not even him, but I'm actually angry at how piss-poor of an argument that was against him.
Literally WHAT THE FUCK did he mean by this? What the FUCK is your point? What a stupid, shitty argument-- Holy shit, I'm actually mad. Jesus fucking Christ.
>>1696919
Jeopardy wasn't developed so that they could sell things. Advertisers look at Jeopardy, try to figure out who the target demo is, and tailor their ads to reflect what those people will want. Then they pay the producers of the show to run their ads because there's a higher chance someone watching Jeopardy will buy life insurance than someone watching Dora the Explorer.
The Flash show was designed to squeeze out merch related to the flash character. Think about it, he changes his costume, there's an action figure there; he uses some sort of tool to get out of a situation, there's a new toy; new villain , new toy.
There's a reason you don't see 300 different Alex Trebek action figures.

The bullets do get new momentum. They're just traveling so fast in a perpendicular direction that they don't get to experience the full effect of the new deviation before they've already hit the wall.
