The wizard was probably studying all day, trying out magic and stuff and working so hard at his craft. That girl on the balcony was pondering life and maybe her job. Maybe her job is hard as fuck and she's a wage slave.

What makes them so relaxing and good is that they've had their hard times and work today, and now they're resting and relaxing now. If you didn't have work and just chilled out all day those times would be less meaningful.

Hell, there's probably been plenty of moments in your life already just like those gifs. That's why you enjoy them. A bit of nostalgia.

It was late evening on a Thursday, I just got out of japanese class and was walking to the parking lot with this girl named Melanie. After chatting for a bit, her mom pulled up and I told her I'd see her tomorrow.

So I sat down at a concrete bench, put my headphones in, and pressed shuffle on music to pass the time till my ride got here. The first song that came up was Here it Comes by Modest Mouse. And just as the music started to play, a massive flock, I mean hundreds, of swallows covered the sky above me.

And that's when I noticed how quiet everything was; No traffic, no construction. The sun had just started to slip behind the rolling green hills to my front, painting the sky a vivid mixture orange-red and blue. I looked left as I tracked the birds flying southwards in black mass towards a fading Saddleback Mountain. I could even feel the land breeze flowing as the temperature dropped. A single chill ran up my spine, leaving me in awe.

And then the song ended. And the last swallow passed through the darkened sky overhead. And the sun was gone behind the hills. Then my ride pulled up and I was gone.
