"let him in." Tada. Not a big deal in those places.

So, again, the EO is a TEMPORARY travel ban for the purposes of putting a proper vetting system in place. Not an outright denial of entry into America forever until our sun becomes a red giant.

And while I agree, Obama could have and should have done more to combat terrorist recruitment, it doesn't excuse Trump for only exasperating the issue. With regard to "the wrong side of history": I'm not a true conservative, so I can't really defend their position on same-sex marriage, abortion, etc., but the more libertarian oriented conservatives (like Ben Shapiro) just want to make sure that the government's push for civil liberties doesn't interfere with freedom of religion. Or the right to self-defense when it comes to gun control. They also worry that the legalization of drugs would lead to a whole bunch of social problems (crime, violence, truancy, etc.) like in Mexico. Just like the dismantling of the nuclear family.

A strong reduction of fossil fuels could destroy the economy. Controlled immigration is also common sense in my view. Conservatives believe in equal opportunity over equality of outcome. They support equal pay for equal work. What they generally don't support is positive discrimination.

I believe Free Trade will boost out economy in the long term and isolationism is short sighted. Government should be more local and not the Federal Government decreeing things to the states. Social support programs should be full funded then removed every few years to get people on their feet and have them self sufficient. The way to fix healthcare costs is to fix healthcare and not change the insurance rules. Tax's should be higher on the rich but not passed 35%. If you want peace prepare for war. The USA should be the city on a hill showing how morals are not just optional but necessary for a functional society. No one is above/below the law and should be subject to due process. People should be free from persecution of Religion, race, sexuality, or creed. We can say what ever the fuck we want so long as it does not infringe upon other rights to do the same.
