Well there's more going on than a bit of autotune but even if there weren't the song takes on a whole new character with even that simple twist. This song is a lament for loss of something you love.
The hippo is a reference to the original piece that inspired it. That piece tells a story of a village whose inhabitants loved a hippo dearly and vice versa. One day the hippo is killed for sport by a hunter. The villagers write a song for the hippo and play it on the day of its death every year. They teach the song to their children who also play it and so on.
I gave my girlfriend a snowglobe that played this song when her parents died in an accident. There are two figures dancing in the globe modeled after a photo of her parents dancing at their wedding.

At the very fundamental level, drawing is simply expressing 3d forms on paper, using principles like foreshortening, overlapping, etc to create an illusion of depth and space. Drawing is logical and practical , the basic principles aren't hard to grasp but they do take time to master.

If you're interested in trying to learn some more, I would suggest www.drawabox.com, and would also highly recommend Mark's Drawing Tutorials channel on Youtube. He has a background in technical drawing so he has a very logical, methodical take on art. I would suggest watching this ( https://youtu.be/vIoTV_GnnEs ) video first, as well as his ten minute drawing techniques videos. He can explain it a lot better than I can.

The story is just something really autistic I started imagining as a child and continued imagining as this sort of habit to contain my ADHD / autism over the years. Like walking into a mall I'd imagine it was a giant fortress with gun turrets shooting down at me, and the cars were all battle cruisers laying siege to it. I had a ton of characters over the years. The main city / stronghold of the good guys was a tree outside my house that I imagined as a tree-city that was miles tall, and had uniquely-powerful deflection shields that let it stand up to siege for years and years. But when weakened it was vulnerable to the railgun superweapon so this woman had to go on the mission (she was the main character's wife and mother of his children), and she got wounded by a mortar as they were moving in to set the charges, then defended the bomb as the timer ticked down, getting shot six or seven times and killing two dozen enemy soldiers before being dragged out by the other character who held her hand while she bled to death.

Essentially and quite simply, there was a war.
That's the entire story in a nutshell, but in a more detailed fashion: there are two factions at war with each other and are constantly fighting on different planets and across different locations on Earth.

While I can't pinpoint an exact time that I started doing this, I can tell you that the earliest time I was imagining it was in Second Grade.

The entire concept was based off of these pens that the school would give us, these blue erasable pens that had a stark resemblance to a rifle, given you had any imagination whatsoever. I remember turning the pen around in my fingers and rolling it around to simulate usage from one of the soldiers, I would act out shootouts between different people and would even spin the pen around as if it's blown out of the hands of a person before they fall over dead.

With these pens, I would act out space battles as well. Now this is how I got the two factions; when the front of the ship was the writing end of the pen, it was the Stilliento (Not exact name, but pretty close, I believe.) Faction, if it was the eraser end first, it was the Oppalline (Again, close, but no cigar) Faction.

You would have round-ended Mk.II Oppalline fighters swirling and chasing sharp-pointed Stilliento fighters and vice versa. Space would be so crowded with fighters and burning carriers that some ships would be forced to slam into one another.

Ground battle were an entirely different story, one of the major battles that occurred happened over the course of several months in real time. While I did favor the Stilliento Faction, I rooted for the Oppalline Faction since they were underdogs.

The largest ground battle in the entirety of this universe occurred on an unnamed planet under Oppalline control and mainly centered around a large mountain. The battle included millions of soldiers on either side and resulted in a death toll of multiple millions.

I'm glad you're interested, this is some closure for me since I never really ended the war, it just trailed off and I stopped imagining it.


The entire planet's surface was covered with mountains and valleys, but one of the larger mountains served as a gigantic underground base for the Oppallines. Picture the VC tunnels in Vietnam but with a shit ton of artillery batteries all over it and a gigantic one (Like prolly 700 MM) on top. Several Anti-Aircraft batteries litter the surrounding mountains to dissuade any sort of aerial assault.

However, the Stillientos launch a gigantic air invasion, thousands of ships are intially shot down, their burning carcasses littering the surrounding valleys and mountains. The AA guns eventually fall silent for they have literally exhausted all of their ammunition and the remaining crew members retreat to the main mountain and pick up arms to prepare for the invasion. The Stillientos launch massive waves of soldiers at the mountain and the fields are quickly filled with dead soldiers, singe marks covering where a laser has struck them. Within the first minute of the battle, hundreds are wounded or killed and thousands more rush onward to their death.

The battle progresses extremely slowly, for every ten Oppallines killed, at least one hundred Stillientos are stricken down as well. The Stillientos eventually start doing some WW2 Marine shit and just stuffing the tunnels chock full of explosives and either collapsing it or immediately evaporating anyone inside due to the explosion. It takes days to progress even fifty meters. The mountain ends up becoming a destroyed shell that's coated in a shroud of dead bodies. Bomb craters salt the destroyed land and laser rifles lie strewn everywhere.

At the very end of the battle, the gigantic artillery piece is literally blown OFF the mountain, the ground under one side being detonated and causing it to roll off, falling and taking some of the mountain with it.

It was a crippling defeat for the Oppollines since they had a shit ton of munitions stored there, but the war wasn't over. In fact, the war never did end. There were a couple of small battles afterwards but nothing on this scale.

This battle sticks out to me due to its intensity and critical result in the war, too bad I never imagined anything else like it.

Pretty good story to be honest. Sometimes I miss the way I used to imagine things and your story brought me back. Sometimes I play Garrys Mod and pretend I am in the war, just tyring to immerse myself again.

Taking a walk after work helps but it will be another month or so before I am back at that job. I should get a better one but I will miss the walking opportunities nearby.

I can't say I completely relate to your situation, but I play IL-2 Sturmovik (flight sim) quite a bit and sometimes I change the nations to two completely random countries and just do dogfight and intercept missions, pretending that these two random ass countries are going to war.

Hell, sometimes I even act out real life wars, small ones, like the Honduras Football War. It's always fun to pretend, but I find LARPing comical and online RPing sort of embarrassing, pretending is really fun whenever it's personal.

I hope you enjoy more walks, anon, it's been a while since I've just walked, typically when I go outside I ride on my bike or hang out with friends. I remember when I was young, my grandparents owned an antique store named after me and we would take walks around my town (Small town in between some larger towns, sort of isolated despite its location) when business was slow.

The memory that sticks out to me the most is when me and my grandmother would go to this one fancy building in my town where they had this big hall and we would say "Echo" into it over and over, the echoing just tickled me to no end, sometimes we would stay there for up to ten minutes with me just giggling my head off.

Damn, just remembering this stuff makes me tear up.
