Meanwhile those idiots literally didn't close the doors. Which is so fucking stupid it instantly throws you away.

Seriously, Dawn is the only Romero film that holds out both in terms of plot and technology (Night aged like milk), everything else is pure shit. And the less is told about the latest one, the better

That film was a mistake. And due to that mistake, we had to deal with another two shit-tier movies.
I want the original ending from T2, goddamn it!
>>
>>1524438
T3 was shit but it didn't deserve the hate for the ending, T2 was the one that decided to go "actually mate, the future might not be written after all" and went against the first film, if anything T3 just went back to the original premise.

Let's be honest, T1 was a film that didn't need ANY sequels.

Son, T2 ended up with no war, John being a senator and Sarah being a grandma. That's literally how this franchise ended - with a single sequel.

Kys
>>
>>1524464

The ending is exactly what the first film implied, T3 did nothing wrong in that dept.
>>
>>1524459
Yeah, that totally explain why there was a 12 years gap in that "cash cow" and why it was made by completely new director and with script written by some anonymous hack. I mean Cameron is no ace, but even compared with him, T3 script was god-awful piece of shit.
Teoretically the series should have ended there, but then they've sold rights for fucking Salvation. And when pretty much burried the franchise for good, they STILL did a fucking reboot/sequel/god knows what, just to give that GoT chick a role to play and explain to everyone why she's not in the movies.
>>
>>1524470

stop bullying me
>>
>>1524467
Only that T2 made sure it shouldn't happen. Instead we've got an entire franchise of bullshit movies on tier with Planet of the Apes (the original one) when it comes to sucking harder and harded with each following movie
>>
>>1523989

>implying it would have made milk cheaper

He could have gone after the big retailers for their obscene marking up of produce but instead he screws over farmers? It makes no fucking sense, that wouldn't make big retailers suddenly slash the prices of milk, the shelf price of milk for the shopper isn't a seasonally fluctuating one, the compact (which was real and actually passed) simply attempted to regulate the wholesale price of milk so that it if it fell below 16.94/cwt farmers could be eligible for federal payments to prevent milk producers going broke in that emergency situation
>>
>>1524474
Stop being stupid then. People hate that movie for fuckload of reasons and all of them are valid.
>>
>>1524477
>I know shit about distribution of farm products, especially dairy ones: The Post
In every civilised country on this planet the easiest way to affect prices of milk and products made of it is to hit, support or ignore people at the bottom, the dairy farmers.

My thought exactly. The film was much more tense and scary when they were simply crawlking though the cave, rather than fending off monsters. Said that, it was still good enough to not kill the mood completely.

And original ending was much, much better, rather than the shit used for US release, which resulted in absolutely pointless sequel.

If anyone is wondering what the context of the movie, its quite simple.

It's set during the American Revolution. The fort in question was an independent community that didn't recognise either the British or the Americans rule. However they were very friendly to the Americans.

The British utilised Natives in their fight (if it isn't plain to see already).

If you ever get the chance watch John Ford movies, they fantastic films.

John Ford didn't just praise the Yanks, he gave a fair share to the Confederate South. Outside of the Civil War.

John Ford knows how to make a character sympathetic, and his characters aren't paragons of good either. They'll cheat if they have to, but to save the life of the innocent.

Whats wrong with giving praise to a genius. A film maker whom we are not likely to ever see again. See a master at his craft is awe-inspiring, regardless of that craft.

The Descent. By far one of the best horror out there and definitely the best of its own decade. Just make sure you watch the English release, not American one, as it adds one, but VERY important scene, putting half of the film on its head. >>

thank you. You are my savior
>>

>Movies are designed to make as much money as possible
Not true. Movies can be made for different reasons, making money is just one of them, but not the only one.
Also, T3 is anything, but blockbuster. Unless we redefine blockbuster into a buzzword meaning any film made with intention of making money, absolutely ignoring any other aspect of blockbuster.

Also, money grab is a thing. That's why it's used. Because it adress specific types of movies, made for specific reason and that reason only.

Original poster here - Ok, fair enough. Movies are designed to make money.

I want you to find something you hold dear, I want you to watch someone think they can ring more money from that. I want you to watch them make a mockery of that and everything it was - and call it cannon. And I want you to watch them walk right past 50 great ideas you would have loved to make that pile of shit. I am not saying this has not happened to you. I am saying this shit happening is a fucking crime against progress and we are now getting artistically stagnant because of it.

Or did you think we actually needed a 4th Indianan Jones movie?

Call this what you will, opinion or a malformed understanding of the system. It does not really matter. I despise Hollywood, but artistically the worst has yet to come and it wont be from them.

I think the gist was that the avionics jammed in some manner and put them into a descending angle, the pilot did not know why, but he could not pull up so he rolled the plane in an attempt to level it. That would not have worked unless the avionics unjammed during the roll. And I can't remember if that is what happens. Movies never get physics right, so probably not.

Oddly that crash was only the catalyst for the actual story in that movie. The pilot on the left had coke in his system during the flight and they found out and tried to pin it on him. I lost interest half way through and didn't care.

1) If you heard one of his soundtrack from past 15, you heard them all.
2) BOMBASTIC! MUSIC! THAT! LIKES! TO! DO! THIS!
3) Fits as much as it doesn't and it's very easy to to imagine different music playing in the background.
4) Often just signing his name under soundtrack done by his aides, who in turn try to copy "master" style, thus the feeling of sameness only increases.

And compared with dozens of other guys making OSTs, both old guard and fresh blood - he's simply overrated as fuck. I watch roughtly 2 movies daily, there was a time when I was doing that for living. Ever since Contender, his music is just completely uninspired, best described with "meh".

Is this the movie I think it is? The infamous King directorial debiute?

What this >>1533584 anon said.

The film is really heavy-handed "Don't drive after drinking" add. Said that, it fails miserably with own message:
The plane was using parts way beyond varanty, it had a lot of mechanical failures and it was all the fault of the airline maintance and the producer of the plane.
Meanwhile Whip (Washington's character) is an alcoholic who uses coke to sober up, BUT precisely because he's a bit drunk he remains 100% calm during the crisis and saves almost all passengers (the investigators put 10 other pilots into a simulation and they all failer miserably).
So rather than being a movie about "big corporation will look for an easy scrapegoat" (and that would made a compelling story) it's yet another "don't drive drunk".

Also, John Goodman is in it and he steals every single scene.

The worst part is that even if they would make suddenly a sequel, they would recast it. And probably won't give it to Weir, but rather some random schmuck.
So I would rather live in the world where there is one perfect Aubrey-Maturin movie than endure the pain of watching hacks fucking it all up.

Go see High Plain Drifter. The scene I'm referring to alone gained it R rating and would get me banned for posting.

And it's still one of better westerns with Clint

And before you start assuming a lot of things - it's pretty serious drama. Eastwood plays against his type, too.
