I don't think so, Tim
>>1518341
NYAAAAH
Are all of these from games, or are there artists that makes these today?
Some OC.
It's definitely not as good as the pixel art out there.
>>1520762
Good stuff man, I love the less professional pixel art made by random folks like yourself.
>>1525431
2D Open world is certainly possible, look at MapleStory.
>>1528846
that's just as openworld as dark souls games are
but I guess that's as close to an open world game as it can get

>always wish I lived long enough to see the futuristic cyberpunk era where people lived off a government assured basic income in a gloomy, neon city surrounded by automatons and machinery that basically replaces all menial labor like Total Recall or something. A Future where the Human population has become really small and still shrinking like Japan so theres no overpopulation or immigration problems. Everybody just lives quaint little lives in these high end futuristic complexes
>at the same time scared of the future would end up like Transmetropolitan where everyone is a gross degenerate
and corruption is everywhere
its an abstract kind of feel
>>1531940
Ay I feel you Anon. Whenever I tell that to people they are kinda worried for me but cyberpunk slums is the life I want to live.
And judging by the way America is going, we're right on track to making Blade Runner's 2019 cyberpunk world a reality by that same year.
>>1531966
>we're right on track to making Blade Runner's 2019 cyberpunk world
if I can fug a qt3.14replicant then I'm all in for it
>>1518313
That's some real subtlety right there.
>want to make my own game one day
>cant tell anyone because of how pathetic that dream sounds
>learn how to use unity
>learn how to program and get to my final year of university
>look at these threads and realise I still cant draw, write music or even come up with original ideas
>come to the even worse conclusion that I lack the motivation to learn how to do any
At least these threads are nice
>>1532129
Never give up famalam
for ideas, hang around /vg/'s amateur game dev threads, and /tg/ can be a good source of ideas for gameplay mechanics
for visuals, experiment with stuff where drawing isn't really needed e.g. procedurally generated textures and models
for music, just get a free SFX library or buy one. same with music, check out incompetechs royalty free music archive.
the main point is to actually have a game you made in your portfolio to give you some "street cred', once you do that getting a job or looking for staff/volunteers to make music/art assets/etc for you becomes easier
I believe you can do it, if you give it your best shot
>>1532161
this
but
make a porn game out of it
set up a patreon (the game doesn't need to be finished just show them your """"proof of concept"""")
spam the shit out of /weg/
jew up all of the money
hire artists to make it look better than how it actualy will be
hire """""""""""coders"""""""""""
stall on every deadline promising the """"big"""" update next month or just make excuses
and that should be it
>pic related to the thread
>>1532129
Well, unfortunately, you decided you wanted to work in an arena that requires multiple disciplines to create a final product.
If you can legit program from a games perspective, you're actually one of the least common but most necessary components of any game production team. Most indie development teams have artists and people who can do music and "ideas people", and the coding is half-assed by those people who scrounge together their compsci knowledge.
You need to start networking. I'm a musician, and I can tell you right now the biggest reason why famous bands become famous is because they managed to find enough people to make a fucking band.
Redesigning an image, redesigning your sound, doing the legwork at no-name venues, pushing your soundcloud and youtube channel, etc. are all secondary to the years of searching Craigslist, looking at personal adds, trolling through /mu/ threads, etc. just to find like-minded people who also can play music.
That's where you're at. You've gotta find people who fill those other niches, unless you're just willing to do it yourself. But I'm telling you right now, as a vocalist who's learning guitar and is working on drum music theory AND is learning to use a DAW just so he can produce some stuff by himself, doing by yourself isn't a whole lot easier than searching for other people.
>>1532129
Keep at it, maybe one day you'll have something to bring to Steam like the thousands of RPGmaker pieces of shit I see there. Live your dream.
