Has anyone ever tried doing UFC/MMA/Whatever by just going pure boxer? I don't mean an MMA all-rounder who prefers punches and strikes, but an actual dedicated boxer who enters MMA.

I'd be interested to see if the speed and power of a dedicated boxer's punches could overcome someone trying something more complicated. They're also more used to taking blows to the body so they'd be better able to tank lighter punches and kicks.

I'm sure it's not a totally viable thing otherwise I'd have heard about it, but has it ever happened? Have there ever been demonstration fights between the two disciplines, for example?
