It's the first weekend of the month, therefore it's time for a new bad drivers thread(s).
As always, I'll make the crashes thread when I run out of "close calls" OC.

You can check for the original source of the video in the title metadata of the video. You'll either have a full link to the original or just the YouTube ID of the video.
If you see a bunch of random characters at the end of the title metadata, that's the YT ID. Careful, though, because the ID always has a - in front of it and there are some IDs that start with a -, so you could have something looking like "--1jj5_0938k". Simply ignore the first -

A truck overtakes at speed, then brakes and comes to a complete stop for no reason at all when the road in front is clear and there is a gap to his left which he could go into if he desperately wanted to take the next exit or whatever. Then, as the motorcyclist is driving past him on the inside lane, the truck moves and hits the motorcyclist. But no, it was totally an accident. The truck definitely needed to overtake, stop in the middle of the road for no reason, then continue right as the motorcyclist was going past him. He also desperately needed to get the truck's wheel exactly on top of the white line, which is why he steered the truck so much. You are an incredible moron. Here's a link to the original video:

Different countries have different rules for roundabouts. Here in Spain it is not allowed to indicate left in order to tell other people you don't want to take the next exit. The law only requires you to indicate the exit and that's it. However, I know that in other countries the highway code states that you should indeed indicate left if you're not going to take the next exit and indicate right once you want to take an exit.

That being said, I always indicate left, even if it's illegal, because other fellow Spaniards are fucking retarded.

I live near DC/MD, and they are everywhere here. The one in Dupont Circle has traffic lights, as do the larger ones near the entrance to DC. I don't mind them in small neighborhoods, where 4 way stops really do impede travel time.

However, people have a really weird issue here with think their car is 4x bigger than it really is. If you're approaching the circle with the lane splitting (1 to go straight, 1 to turn right), the amount of cars from the straight lane that cross the line to take up a foot of the right turn lane is fucking frustrating.

I've avoided so many tiny fender benders by not maintaining speed to get to my turn. These assholes don't even realize what they're doing.

New vehicles, trucks or otherwise, have some sort of emergency brake assisting system that detects a collision and brakes with the fury of an angry god. Volvo and Mercedes have been adding that shit in their trucks and some of their cars for a while now and not long ago a Tesla model S used its emergency brakes in a real life situation.

Roundabouts always have yields.

It's a cheap way of making an intersection without having people debating whether it was right hand priority or left hand priority or center priority or backwards priority. Also, more than one car can go at a time, especially if there's already a car in the roundabout and they have to yield to it and then they start at the same time.

Even if they properly went around it, I don't see how more than one car could safely work that at a time. I get big roundabouts, but the small ones don't seem very effective.

Nope, only if I initiate the call. An officer in SC serves as complaining witness, arresting officer, and prosecutor if the officer initiates.

If any other citizen initiates it, there has to be proof. For instance, someone driving poorly causes a 911 call for a suspected drunk. I do NOT have to observe the initial action, merely further actions by the driver.

In this case, a citizen initiates the call, I arrive, view the cam footage after detaining the driver of the truck. I write the appropriate tickets (after giving the appropriate field sobriety test, because that IHOP is a 24 hour store and there isn't a night that goes by without at least one asshole getting popped for DUI coming out of, or going into, that parking lot.) I take the dashcam (or the SD card, if removable,) and add it to the file. When trial time comes, I am a corroborating witness, arresting officer and prosecutor.

TL/DR: Video evidence is enough to trigger an arrest.

I actually drive a semi in the US. Fleets don't buy the snazzy auto-braking Volvos, they "break" enough as they are.
Both trucks are likely modern, they're just "long-nose" classic-styled models that the manufacturer offers for a premium. They have ABS.
The camera truck panicked and probably jerked the wheel reflexively. Physics at that scale isn't forgiving.
If I was driving that truck, especially knowing I had a camera watching, I'd moderately brake and hope the car doesn't ricochet too violently.
Swerving is never a good idea, even in a car; you're effectively giving the trigger car a free pass. Just watch how that Sentra drives away like nothing happened.
