>>1437782
Yes, its from the castle bravo test, so it is a hydrogen bomb. webm is unrelated
Op here, still looking for the interstellar nukes. I think it had the docking music.

How much fucking land did that shift?? Holy hell
Why do almost all videos of nuclear blasts have horrible scary music played over them? What's wrong with actual sounds or just plain silence?

>>1437423
what happened? Why is the ground shaking. Are they doing earth quake tests or what.
>>1449126
Apparently it was to test whether or not seismographic equipment could differentiate between earth quakes and nuclear explosions.

>>1440570
any idea what the plane is?
>>1443800
Wow! It sounds like the initial blast is picked up by the sound recording equipment! I wonder what could cause that.
>>1449192
Massive amounts of radiation hitting the wires from the microphone and putting enough energy into them for it to be picked up as sound
>>1448876
I don't know why these two tests so often get combined, but the Davy Crocket (nuke cannon) was NOT the same test as the pigs getting burnt up (Priscilla). They always seem to get edited together.
>>1437502
I always asked myself what are those vertical lines we can see in this video

>>1450539
Little rockets or flares that leave a trail of smoke so that what happens in terms of air currents can be measured, blast wave, vacuum, backdraft etc.
>>1450539
They launched flares with smoke trails so they could track the blast as it moved through the air
Is it weird that I consider nukes elegant?

They are a pure and unadulterated form of the immense energy held within the very essence of matter itself.
I think you'd be a fool to find them anything but.

Well i didn't see it posted in this thread so i'm posting it. I assume this is what you were talking about OP.

Martin B-57: the american copy of the English Electric Canberra
it was used for strategic photo-recon prior to and alongside the U-2 so it is most likely filming the test(the RAF used their photo-recon Canberras until 2006)

Not the tsar but another thermonuclear device very similar (the footage is very often mistaken to be the one of the Tsar's explosion)
The yield was about 20-25 Mt

I'm aware. Named it that so I could more readily find it.

Theres one video I've been trying to find for years now. Its basically a view of the earth shot from space with this man singing the end of an opera song. Been dying to find it.
Does any one know which nuclear test made in appearance (as stock footage) at the end of the Spongebob episode "Dying for pie"?
>>1450552
Sure, that and a pair of testicles.

Nukes can be considered the epitome of warfare. All the useless prattling, all the struggling, all the war is brought down to one singular chess game.
It keeps the long-game of war; balance in power means peace, imbalance means war. Yin and yang. If one side becomes too powerful, if there is a disturbance in capability, then something horrific can happen.
posted some oc in a nuke thread a while back

The firemen are the reason for the massive explosion, I don't recall exactly but there was some powdered compound stored there that when it reacts with water it turns into acetylene.

>>1493561
They are not the same tests at all. The pigs are Priscilla, the cannon is Upshot-Knothole Grable. The videos were mislabeled in the 70s and people kept using the false labels afterwards.
>>1496425
Nah, it's Grable. There are no confirmed videos of Priscilla that look anything like that. No one even knows if any of the photos said to be Priscilla are even actually Priscilla, since they all just look like Grable (and some of them definitely are Grable.) Also, they used pigs in both tests. They just used like 700 pigs in Priscilla.
>>1497148

IIRC it's the oxide portion of the mixture that provides all the necessary o2 to burn.
gunpowder as we know it works in most any environment I can think of, so long as the grains are packed in tight enough.
>>1456596
It's not. See all the sparkles? that's magnesium burning. It's an ammo cache exploding.
>>1497603
>>1497610
Uh, no. You're right about the wick, but gunpowder doesn't work well if it's wet.
