And right at the very end when he is trying to stop the pendulum swinging, realising this is his last moments with his wife, he wants to cherish those last precious moments they have together, and he is feeling a mixture of guilt, sorrow, anger, regret etc. However, his perfect wife convinces him to let it go and lets his last moments to be of love and happiness and overwhelming gratitude to his spouse. And they get to spend eternity together.
