They were right outside Baghdad, out of the 12 planes 2 were shot down (both pilots bailed out but were captured), the rest managed to escape

>The energy required to execute these missile break turns forced Maj. Tullia's jet to descend to 10,000ft (3,050ml, which put him in the heart of the AAA envelope. The only answer in this case was to select afterburner in order to increase airspeed and climb. However, being extremely low on fuel, and 700 nautical miles from home, afterburner must be used very judiciously. Before sufficient airspeed is increased, however, ET is faced with another multiple missile launch. In this case two separate SA-6 missile sites launch at his jet while he is climbing out of the AAA envelope.
Poor guy couldn't just get a break
Giving the Backfire's 2 Kuznetsov NK25 engines the beans, 55000lbs of thrust per engine. What a monster
>>1353359
Haha A russian mig would just plow into the ground.
>>1354730
Well it only has 2 engines. The B-1B has 4 engines with an output of 30000 each. You should hear those bad boys take off.
>>1354768
Meh. 110000lbs versus 120000lbs. Both are fuckin rad
>>1349827
Sauce, Source, Saucino, Salsa on the song??
>>1350546
On his last run it either looks like he's doing a run on a horse with a wagon or I need better glasses.
>>1356536
son, you need more than just glasses...those are all horses...
Love this plane
>>1350265
the Tu22M is pretty based
I love anti-shipping strike aircraft and the Backfire is basically the king in that field
>>1358841
Fuck, its like he took off with less than 200 meters
>>1359250
I like it too. Its doing well leveling half of Syria nowadays
>>1360067
>SAM chase taking this long
It was cool when I was like 12, but I can't ignore the details now. Have an actual SAM launch
>>1354755
Ironically russians are the ones who mastered autopilot systems, while USAF doesn't like to rely on them. Even old as fuck mig-21 had landing autopilot system.
>>1349840
what anime?
>>1360306
they take that long, just not the same missile.
>>1350198
This
>>1350267
That's a nice bmw
does someone have that space anime webm?
it was a rocket launch, perhaps soviet? don't remember that well. it was like 1:30min long
>>1353996
do they launch flares or..? and if they do is there a limit to how many times they can deploy counter measures
>>1356234
This plane give me the spookys every time. It's some nausica level of mean looking plane.
>>1364029
He could only try chaff, because it was not IR SAM. But chaff is useless unless under certain conditions and is certainly useless against SA-2 because it has radio command guidance. All countermeasures are fired from the same dispenser which has about 100 mixed chaff and flare countermeasure cartridges. It's not that much, since you need to fire them a lot.
>>1350262
Hawker Hunter?
>>1350545
Fuck. That's intense.
>>1363666
Not at that altitude, Satan
>>1364029
According to the pilot's own retelling he just used careful timing of ECM and evasive maneuvers
>>1354755
strangely enough, a mig 21 from the 60's has something similar.
>>1368306
That thing's shifting!!
>>1351922
>OC
Good, at least we know what kind of a faggot you are
>>1356869
great fucking execution

>>1356536
The Wehrmacht transsported a lot of supplies via horse. Yes it's horses and a wagon.
Anyone have webms of any Russian war songs?
I've been trying to find a specific one, but I can't remember the name of it. iifc it was about the Russians losing, until winter comes and routs the enemy, giving them the advantage, or something like that. It was in Russian but subtitled in English.
>>1374832
No, fuck off. This thread's for aircraft and the noise they make, not songs. Go to one of the war threads, faggots post music videos there now.
>>1372887
Seems like a waste. Are you going to do more damage dropping that cannon/ammos weight in bombs or firing 75mm rounds inaccurately into a battlefield.
I could be wrong, but I take the bombs any day.
>>1376181
Well it's not meant to maximize damage it's meant to localize damage. So factories, infantry and materiel still get bombed but things like tanks or reinforced bunkers might benefit from a 75mm AP shell
>>1360925
5 cm/second
You can tell from the rocket launch aesthetics
>>1350215
sauce on music?
>>1374832
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37l7P5V1eXU
>>1376181
the meme cannon was really shitty in combat, it was manually loaded which gave it shitty as fuck fire rate and was inaccurate. one pilot said they fired it every once in a while during missions as a joke and sometimes they'd actually get a hit and they'd be surprised
they soon switched to the B-25J with a strafer nose with 14 forward facing fifty cals and 8 HVAR rockets and bombs that could pretty much kill anything the 75mm could
>>1369336
Yeah, I did. It was fucking ridiculous. What I meant is that a SAM battery could be firing on the same aircraft for minutes, but the travel time for the missiles would be like 20 seconds at most, much less for an SA-13. Also, they don't "come back" if they pass by the target, as they would loose lock.
May be a video game but it's still pretty cool.
>>1350252
Is this DCS 2.5?
>>1377242
They explode if the missile senses that it's getting further from the aircraft.
>>1360067
Shit, probably one of the worst movies ever made

it looks like he gets g-locked and the auto pilot saves his life...you can see that it levels him out and brings him back to the horizon line..
